It would be wrong of me to produce a website that didn’t also show my own thoughts and beliefs.
It feels to me like the world is on fire right now, it’s a scary time, but also a potentially exciting time to live.
I don’t want to make the website too political, but I do have serious concerns around a lot of our so called leaders around the world and their motivations.
Do we honestly think that people like Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu have the best interests of their people and the wider world as the forefront of their mind?
I hope Iām wrong, but I honestly don’t see it – the reality is that under the leadership of these people over the last few years – and I acknowledge there are other world leaders around as well, but these 3 seem to carry a lot of weight currently- the world seems to have become more fragmented than ever. The last 20 years or so were not perfect, but the world was generally stable to a degree, now we have wars erupting across the globe and the impact of this, outside of the war zones themselves which must be horrific, is that normal everyday people are being priced out of being able to just live normal daily lives.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but it honestly feels to me like Russia, USA and Israel have agreed to stay out of each other’s way, let them get on with their own things and essentially build the world around themselves – that may be a naive view, but it’s how it seems to me.
I’m not sure where China fits in there being honest, we’ve known for some time that China has been reverse engineering Western technology and probing defences, but it feels to me like the Chinese government at least has a longer term view of where it sees its place in the world.
Donald Trump rarely panders to people, so to see him really throwing on a strong display of welcome and luxury to the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, recently poses some interesting questions. How strong must China be in the world for America to be worried enough to want them on-side with them?
As an aside, I found it interesting to see that when the respective couples were coming out of an event, Donald Trump was not holding his wife’s hand walking down some stairs, while Xi Jinping was holding his wife’s hand like a normal couple generally would. I’m probably reading too much in to that, but I found it interesting to see.
The explosion of AI in the world cannot be ignored.
I believe that the use of AI over the next decade will produce some staggering results for us all.
There are a lot of potential dangers. They’re being summarised by people far cleverer and more aware than me, but I believe that a future where humanity is working together with AI, or super intelligence as Mr Trump would like it referred as, can bring about huge benefits to our race and our planet.
It feels like humanity could evolve from its infancy, in to a time where decisions are actually based on longer term benefits, rather than financial greed and disregard for damage caused to our home.
The worry, of course, is that AI is being managed, as best as it can, by people who are primarily financially invested. That has to be a concern for us all.
Ultimately, as we walk through this new world, I believe it is more important than ever for us to recognise our humanity.
We need to recognise that we are all people.
We are essentially the same.
We are at our best when we are helping each other.
Focusing time on being the best versions of ourselves that we can be, through healthy eating, healthy exercise, and mindfulness, is the best tool that any of us can have to navigate these times.
I’m really interested in your views about this!
